There are a lot of ways to become an expert on awnings, but Pete, owner of Apple Awnings spent over 20 years living on a sailboat; using and repairing canvas and seeing how hardware and rigging stood up to the ocean's stormy abuse. In 1985 Pete started Apple Awnings while living in San Francisco on his boat docked at Pier 39.
In 1990 he moved to Occidental in Sonoma County where he has continued to combine his expertise from boating with the newest awning developments and his own custom, innovative ideas for canvas work. While he maintains his client, The Blue and Gold Fleet, to this day; Sonoma County has provided him with many opportunities to work with a variety of wineries and tasting rooms, meeting their custom needs for tank covers etc. Pete, also known as Captain Canvas, looks forward to working with you and can be reached at his shop in Occidental at 707-874-1154 or by e-mail at pete@captaincanvas.com.
